Still, it’s good to see it getting some press. Facebook is, these days, an essential tool to reach people, and no, not just College Students.

There’s also a hanging java-script box under the word “home” above, that we’re going to be fixing soon.  Just an FYI.

We’ve been talking up our business, have several new leads… and best of all have nearly finished another website!

This is just a quick update, but we wanted to keep you (our customers) in the know.

Aristotle is a campaign management software company (an incredibly highly priced one at that), but boy does their website rock.

Take a look for yourself.  

It follows the simple rule of Show, don’t Tell.  And, frankly, it makes C-Clamp websites (like 99% of the websites on the internet, including this one) look amateur.

As we here @ DD roll out our 2.0 version of this website (with a better domain name and separate portals for businesses, not-for-profits, campaigns, and individuals) look for something more like the website linked above.

We’ve picked up new clients including:

-2 grassroots political groups aiming to influence the ‘08 election (one in Lincoln, one in Omaha)

-1 Regional Young Democrats Organization 

-1 small business (an online perfume shop)

-2 community groups (a support group & a neighborhood association)

and there are a few more that we hope will sign up with DD, but have not yet committed.

Over the next month, as the sites are designed and brought online, we’ll have links.  We’ll also be adding a portfolio page to our website, to show off our work.

So let me just say now, yes yes, we know. The grammatically correct way to say to say our name would have been “Design Differently.”

Trust us, we love grammar over here at DD. You’ll notice that we try very hard to never make freshman mistakes with our pronouns (like saying “John, Allison, and Me“) or even sophomoric mistakes like ending sentences with prepositions.

John comes from a journalism background, so sometimes we have trouble with him writing Add-Copy in AP style (it’s the style newspapers are written in). But besides this problem, which leads to a lot of missing commas, we try to keep strict grammar around this joint.

But that’s the point. By sticking to our rules strictly, we are in a better position to emphasize things when we decide to break the rules.

And Design Different is nothing if not a firm that breaks all The Rules…

So far we’re breaking the rules about what a marketing firm is supposed to be… We’re breaking the rules in what we’re supposed to do, how we’re supposed to do it, and how much we’re supposed to charge for our services. We’re even breaking the rules in what type of companies we’re supposed to be working for… willfully choosing to skip out on lucrative corporate contracts, and actively seeking out low-dollar alternative contracts with companies we can be proud to do work for.

I guess that’s why we went with the name Design Different. We want you to know from the start that we’re breaking the rules.

But, for the record, we (heart) grammar too.

No, it’s not Nike or Apple computers (not this year at least). And no, despite all our emails, John Edwards still hasn’t hired us for his Presidential Campaign.
